COP 29
· The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
met in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11-22, 2024.
· Although this COP will not be nearly as large as COP28 in Dubai (attended by an estimated 80,000+ people), it is still
the major "climate event" of the year.
· The resources below range from official COP websites to civil society networks protesting the presence of the COP in Azerbaijan.

This page is part of the UNFCCC's "newsroom." It's comprehensive, but a bit of a hodgepodge of information. Worth expoloring if you are looking for "big ideas" about COP23, but not the best way to figure out exactly "what's going on."
This is where you can find a wide range of information on the logistics of the conference.
This is the UNFCCC's "working website" (as opposed to public website), which contains a very succinct and helpful description of what the conference is all about. Hover over "COP23" in the top menubar, and you'll see a well-organized overview of conference resources.
Although it's taking place in Bonn, Germany, the Presidency of COP is held by Fiji. Not surprisingly, this website highights the plight of small island states.

• the other from the host, Poland.
