Defining NRM
It is surprisingly difficult to define natural resource. Both "coal" and "wind" are natural resources...but what about, say, the DNA that enables human creativity—is that a natural resource? If not, why not?
As semantically open ended as natural resource may be, the World Bank offers a helpful definition of natural resource management:
"The sustainable utilization of major natural resources,
such as land, water, air, minerals, forests, fisheries,
and wild flora and fauna. Together, these resources
provide the ecosystem services that underpin
human life."
Ultimately, in one way or another, nearly every page at EarthWeb.info concerns natural resources & natural resource management. This page mostly collates information that is self-described as concerning the generic topic of "natural resources" and "natural resource management" without any other more specific indicators.
